Message from Superintendent

Long Beach Unified School District
Superintendent Chris Steinhauser

Thank you very much for contributing to the development of our Technology Master Plan. Your hard work and honest feedback will help improve our systems and ultimately increase academic achievement throughout our district.

This initiative is an important part of our mission “to support the personal and intellectual success of every student, every day.” As we prepare all of our students for college and careers, it is clear that we must equip them with the skills necessary to be productive citizens in a diverse and competitive world. That means we need to figure out how we can use technological resources to enhance teaching and learning. By the end of the planning process, we should have greater capacity to take such a comprehensive approach.

The Technology Master Plan fits well with other districtwide efforts. Not only does it feed into our Strategic Plan, but it also goes hand-in-hand with our Facility Master Plan, which is a similar process to address school building issues. All of these initiatives reflect our belief in continuous improvement.

As with everything else in Long Beach, the Technology Master Plan thrives on collaboration and two-way communication. Different stakeholders will have an opportunity to share their ideas. The outcome will represent districtwide consensus, which will benefit our students in the end.

Once again, I am grateful for your assistance with this important work.
